Putting a Name to the Faces
Chris Swinton
Managing Director
Chris didn’t start his career behind a desk crunching numbers. From his early working life in the motor trade, he gained first-hand experience of the day-to-day challenges that businesses face. Over the past twenty years, Chris has used his insider knowledge to help business owners avoid mistakes and make good decisions. He enjoys solving problems for his clients and offers business coaching services.
Chris is still passionate about all things motor trade, taking the odd trip to watch Formula 1 and occasionally enjoying the thrill of being behind the wheel at track days.
Paul Swinton
Operations Director
Paul is our operations mastermind. With his in-depth knowledge of the systems and processes that make running a business simpler and more efficient, he enjoys helping clients save time. Paul makes sure that businesses not only understand their finances but also use them to make better decisions, reduce stress and improve profits. His friendly labrador Reggie often makes a guest appearance in the office.
Paul shares Chris’s love of F1 and track days, and can be found most weekends cheering on his sons’ football team, Tasburgh United, where he’s also the club chairman.
Bob Swinton
Senior Director
Founder of Swinton Accountants and father to Chris and Paul, Bob genuinely gets what it feels like to run a business. Having started as a sole trader over thirty years ago while bringing up his young family, Bob has grown Swinton Accountants from a one-man business into the firm it is today.
Bob enjoys a whisky (or two) and is talented at playing the bagpipes. His proudest moments include piping his eldest son Chris down the aisle at his Scottish wedding, playing for Paul at his wedding ceremony in Norfolk and both his sons joining the business.
Zak Rogers
Tax & Accounts Team Leader
Having worked his way through the notoriously tough Chartered Tax Adviser exams, Zak is our resident tax specialist, which is unusual for a firm of our size. He helps clients find legitimate ways to save tax, untangle complicated tax situations and plan their personal and business tax affairs.
When he’s not chewing over tax problems, or crisps, Zak enjoys walking his dog Dexter and is a big Arsenal fan.
Alain Medina
Client Manager
Alain joined the firm as a school-leaver apprentice over ten years ago and has worked his way to becoming fully qualified. He looks after some of our larger clients, helping them with everything from year-end accounts to management reporting and their day-to-day finances. His specialisms include construction, hospitality and motor dealers.
Bilingual in Spanish and English, Alain enjoys travelling to Spain and mountain hiking, especially sunrise climbs. A keen footballer from a young age, Alain still regularly plays for Blofield.
Nikki Goodwin
Virtual Finance Office Lead
Our longest-serving team member, Nikki has been with the firm for over twenty years, starting as an office temp. Affectionately known as our ‘Payroll Princess,’ Nikki leads our payroll team and Virtual Finance Office service.
Nikki is mum to a young son and two sausage dogs, Loki and Fritz. A baking enthusiast, her cakes are legendary in the office.
Matt Baldry
Bookkeeping Team Leader
Matt has been with the firm for over five years and oversees the VAT and bookkeeping for most of our clients, making sure their books are accurate, up to date and all in order.
When he’s not building sandcastles and digging holes with his young son, Matt enjoys watching sport and getting out for a walk.
Hayley Defoe
Senior Team Member
Hayley handles payroll for a number of our clients, making sure their teams are paid accurately and on time. She’s always at the end of the phone when payroll clients have queries.
A ‘coffee obsessive’, Hayley gets excited about trying new beans and writing tasting notes. She supports her daughters with their sports activities and enjoys watching cricket as a family.
Anita Jaffrey
PA to the Directors
Anita is office mum and the pillar of the firm. She puts clients at ease on the phone or when they visit the office, and they love to chat to her. She keeps the office running like clockwork and makes sure we and our clients meet all deadlines.
A music lover, Anita sings and performs with her local rock choir. She also loves travelling, not only on the odd cruise but, in particular, supporting her son and watching him perform as an accomplished guitarist with his touring career.
Stella Fisher
Marketing Lead
With over twenty years’ experience, Stella helps with all things marketing. She particularly enjoys writing and polishing copy and is passionate about using plain English to make accountancy and tax easier to understand.
Fluent in French, Stella enjoys learning languages and is an avid reader. She’s a regular swimmer and plays the occasional game of badminton and tennis.
Ricky Goddard
Team Member
Ricky supports Zak and Alain with management accounts whilst studying for his accountancy qualification. From a creative writing degree to management accounts, Ricky’s proved his versatility.
Although his young family keeps him busy, he often finds time to cheer on his beloved Manchester United.
Rea Kirkland
Team Member
Rea helps Matt with bookkeeping and is progressing towards her Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification.
A ‘hobby-hopper’, Rea loves trying new things, including badminton and clay modelling. Her spirit of adventure recently led her to embark on a solo trip to Jersey to enjoy the stunning beaches, although she’s more often to be found strolling along the Norfolk coast.
Jake Blower
Team Member
Assisting Matt with bookkeeping, Jake is working towards his Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification.
Jake is passionate about kickboxing and has recently taken up volleyball. Always up for a challenge, he’s completed several mountain hikes and is currently learning Russian.
